General Contractor in Fort Collins, CO
Radiant Homes is based in Fort Collins. Repairs and smaller jobs are our home turf here, and larger remodels, additions and custom homes are on the table too.
Based here, working across the whole house
Most contractors treat Fort Collins as one stop on a long route. For us it is where the office, the trucks and the owner are. That changes what we can offer a homeowner: a repair does not need a long drive, an estimate visit is easy to fit in, and a small job does not wait on a crew coming from somewhere else.
The work runs in two tiers. Repairs, maintenance and smaller projects stay close to home in Fort Collins and the towns around it. Larger remodels, additions and custom homes are open to the wider Front Range.
Distance is the hidden cost of a small job.
A half-day repair is only worth booking if the trip is short. From Fort Collins, ours is.
- Sticking doors and cracked drywall in older houses
- Deck boards and railings after a freeze-thaw winter
- Turnover repairs between tenants
- Inspection punch lists with a closing date
- Hail damage to gutters, siding and roof edges
- The small jobs you have been meaning to fix for a year
Old Town bungalows to newer builds
Fort Collins has a wide range of housing. Old Town and the neighborhoods around it hold homes from the early and middle twentieth century: plaster walls, older wiring and plumbing, small kitchens and closets, and additions layered on by several owners. Farther out, most homes date from recent decades, and their builder-grade finishes are now reaching the age where they need attention.
Older homes are where a repair most often uncovers something bigger, and where a contractor who understands how the house was built earns his keep. Newer homes are where a list of small items piles up. We work on both, and the approach differs.

West side, foothills and hail season
Fort Collins backs up to the foothills. West-side homes take more wind, and homes beside open space and dry grass have more exposure to wildfire embers than homes in the middle of town. Across the whole city, hail season runs from late spring through summer, and storms are hard on roofs and everything attached to them.
The practical answer is a baseline. A roof, gutter and trim check before storm season means you know what condition your house was in before the hail, and that makes a claim easier to document. See our roofing page and exterior remodeling page for what that looks like.

Questions people ask first
Do you handle turnover repairs for rental homes near CSU?
Yes. Colorado State University sits in the middle of Fort Collins, and a lot of the housing around it is rented. Between tenants the list is usually patching, paint, flooring, fixtures, doors and whatever the last move-out broke.
Send the list before the unit turns over, and we can plan the repairs in one pass so the place is back on the market sooner. For a landlord with several units, one contractor who already knows the buildings saves real time.
Does my older Fort Collins home need a historic review before I remodel?
It can. The city has a preservation program, and older buildings may be reviewed when work involves changes to the exterior or demolition. Whether your house is affected depends on its age and what is planned.
We ask about the age of the house at the first visit and check with the city before a design is finalized, because finding out after drawings are done is the expensive way to learn it.
Do I need a City of Fort Collins permit for a repair?
Cosmetic repairs generally do not. Structural changes, new or altered electrical and plumbing, and many roof and window projects commonly do. Homes outside city limits in Larimer County follow county rules instead of the city's.
We tell you which side of that line your job falls on before work starts, and we pull the permit when one is required.
How can I tell if a storm damaged my Fort Collins home?
Start with the soft metals, because they show hail first: gutters, downspouts, vents and flashing. Then look at the roof surface for bruising or bare spots, and at siding, window wraps and the garage door for dents and cracks.
Check the deadline in your insurance policy and photograph everything before repairs. Our storm restoration page explains the claim process step by step.
Do you only work in Fort Collins?
No. Repairs, maintenance and smaller jobs are what we do close to home: Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor, Timnath and nearby Northern Colorado. Larger remodels, additions and custom homes reach across the wider Front Range.
Fort Collins is where we are based, so it is where a small job is easiest to say yes to.
